In January Lapland is probably the most beautiful area in northern Finland. The low sun enchants the landscape in a deep blue, pink fairytale landscape with supernumerary large and small fir trees. In January, it is still relatively quiet in Lapland, as the ski holidays for the Finn only start in the beginning of February and therefore only few tourists are present there. On numerous side roads there are good observation spots for the aurora borealis.
Near Muonio there are numerous accommodations available and some husky farms to visit. In January, the temperatures vary from -5 ° C to -40 ° C depending on the weather conditions.
